Incentives & Resources

Kingman County and the municipalities located within have set up incentives for businesses located in or locating to the area. Additional incentives may be available upon request.  Informal incentives often include permit fee waivers and utility credits. 

NEIGHBORHOOD REVITALIZATION PLAN

The Kingman County Neighborhood Revitalization Plan is intended to promote the revitalization and development of Kingman County by stimulating new construction and the rehabilitation, conservation, or redevelopment by offering certain incentives including rebates of property taxes in accordance with the Plan.

2023 KINGMAN COUNTY IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM

Kingman County has established the Kingman County Improvement Program (KCIP) to encourage investment in properties throughout the county. Assistance is available in two areas: Business Facades and Dilapidated Structures.

The local Small Business Development Center is out of Wichita State University and offers confidential no-cost advising.

This Kansas Department of Commerce (KDC) website contains information about various forms of funding. 

The KDC of also offers Commercial Rehab grants as part of the Community Development Block Grant Program.

LOCAL

SCORE offers free assistance to entrepreneurs and small business owners.  There are training opportunities, workshops, and other resources.

Kingman County offers a Neighborhood Revitalization Program which is a property tax rebate program on sliding scale for up to ten years. You must apply before you begin construction/rehabilitation. 

Kingman County Economic Development has an improvement program to assist with improvements of facades and the demolition of dilapidated structures.  Maximum grant award is $5000.00.

Kansas Global Trade Services helps businesses succeed globally by leveraging international trade knowledge, experience, and global network. Offerings include international business consulting, market entry strategy, market research, trade mission facilitation, and trade compliance.

WORKFORCE SOLUTIONS

The Workforce Center of South Central Kansas provides a number of services at no cost for employers.  For assistance call (316) 771-6800.

Kingman County is a Rural Opportunity Zone.  Tax credits for new residents and assistance for student debt reimbursement may be available to those meeting eligibility requirements.
